The long night of WORTMELDUNGEN readings and awards ceremony for the Ulrike Crespo Förderpreis

Ten viewpoints on the tipping point: ‘What kind of language, and what kind of stories and images do you use to let people experience approaching crises and tipping points?’ This is the question that WORTMELDUNGEN literature prizewinner Judith Schalansky asked young authors. Their literary answers go far beyond the ecological dimension of the terms crisis and tipping point. They present apocalyptic constellations alongside those that are utopian in these intense and impressive deliberations about language, the body, and about people in harmony and in conflict with the non-human world.

During the event, the ten shortlisted authors will read excerpts from their texts and present themselves and their work in conversation with journalist Isabella Caldart. The jury will also present the WORTMELDUNGEN Ulrike Crespo Förderpreis to the three winners.

The shortlisted authors reading excerpts will be Sebastian Behr, Clemens Böckmann, Nicole Collignon, Giorgio Ferretti, Clara Heinrich, Louise Kenn, Simone Saftig, Stav Yehiel Szir, Anile Tmava and Theresia Töglhofer.

The evening will include songs from students of the Studiojahr Schauspiel acting programme at Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts: Marie Bretschneider, Lennart Klappstein, Miguel Klein Medina and Silvia Schwinger.

Presenter: Isabella Caldart, culture journalist and editor
