MOBILE STUDIO IN SCHOOLS AND NEIGHBOURHOODS

DAS FLIEGENDE KÜNSTLERZIMMER (FLIEKÜ: THE FLYING ARTIST’S ROOM)

Most activities connected with cultural education are located in large urban areas, which means that pupils and artists in the countryside have very few venues where they can meet up. That’s where the ‘flying artist’s room’ (fliegendes Künstlerzimmer, or FlieKü) comes in, functioning as a mobile live-in studio in rural schoolyards. The title of the project was inspired by the classic children’s book by Erich Kästner, ‘The Flying Classroom’. Even on the outskirts of towns, universal cultural participation is by no means a foregone conclusion. That’s why the FlieKü opened its doors in a district of Frankfurt for the very first time in 2023.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR MIGRANTS

SABA BILDUNGSSTIPENDIUM (SABA EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP)

‘Empowering people through education’ was a mission defined by the founder Ulrike Crespo herself. In the course of her own formal education she extensively explored emancipatory ideas as well as the practical concerns and hardships of people who have a migratory background. The SABA educational scholarships are one way of addressing an issue that was very close to Ulrike Crespo’s heart.

ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAMME IN IRELAND

Glenkeen Garden Residencies

We’re currently living in an era of redefining how people relate to nature. Art plays a special role in this process: it has the potential to tread new ground and generate ideas. That’s why the Crespo Foundation has initiated a programme that gives artists the ideal setting where they can address the topic: the Glenkeen Garden Residencies – ArtNature/NatureArt on the south coast of Ireland.

SERVICE-LEARNING PROGRAMME

TELLUS

There’s enormous pressure on pupils who have only just arrived in Germany: they have to learn a new language, get a school-leaving qualification, and decide what kind of career they want to do. So we’ve set up a learning space called TELLUS where university students can support the progress of those attending school while also enhancing their own professional skills.

FURTHER TRAINING PROGRAMME

tomoni mental health

tomoni mental health has taken on the task of promoting early recognition of psychological illnesses among teenagers and young people. Teachers and other members of school staff can make a real difference by recognising the symptoms of psychiatric illness and approaching it in the right way. That’s because around 75% of all mental illnesses appear in childhood and adolescence. So tomoni mental health has developed the tomoni.schools training programme in conjunction with academics, affected young people, and educational professionals. This interactive digital module can be booked throughout Germany and provides insights and strategies for dealing with the psychological challenges facing young people every day at school.

EMPOWERING PEOPLE!

That’s the motto of the Crespo Foundation. We see our role as supporting people through the decisive phases of their personal development and motivating them to take on responsibility for themselves and others.
