This workshop is aimed at women* and combines the powerful energy of Brazilian Afro-Samba with body awareness, expression and femininity. Through rhythmic movement, musicality and a shared choreography, participants not only explore the basics of the dance, but also strengthen self-perception, presence and self-confidence. The focus is on moving freely, feeling one’s own feminine energy, and collectively experiencing the joy of Brazilian dance culture.

Maiara Oliveira (former SABA scholarship recipient) is from Bahia, Brazil, and has been a professional dancer since 2000. She has worked for several years on international tours, presenting Brazilian dance culture in various countries. Her focus lies in authentically conveying the energy, joy and cultural diversity of Brazilian dance.
