Here to Stay. Stories from 20 Years of the SABA Educational Scholarship for Migrants

Artistic perspectives on challenges and empowerment

The anniversary exhibition celebrating the SABA educational scholarship looks back on 20 successful years of the SABA programme. At the heart of the exhibition are the scholarship recipients and supporters, whose artworks, experiences and personal perspectives explore learning, living and working with SABA in Germany. Through video works, photography, paintings, prints and texts, the exhibition highlights not only stories of success, but also the obstacles and structural challenges participants have encountered. It shows how people with migration and refugee experience build new lives in Germany, who believes in them, and what they are able to achieve as a result. Visitors are invited to engage directly with the scholarship recipients’ experiences through interactive creative formats. An accompanying programme offers opportunities for deeper exploration of the exhibition’s themes and for networking.

The SABA educational scholarship is a programme run by the Crespo Foundation in cooperation with beramí berufliche Integration e.V. It supports people with migration and refugee experience by providing empowering learning environments and financial resources, enabling them to obtain a school-leaving qualification, develop professional prospects and shape a self-determined future.
