What distinguishes an image from an algorithmic artifact? And what sharpens our perception of this difference? In a lecture and conversation, Siegfried Zielinski – one of the most renowned media thinkers – reflects on photography and technical images in relation to the works of Lisa Barnard and Isadora Romero, the recent winners of the ‘After Nature . Ulrike Crespo Photography Prize 25’, while revisiting the thoughts of Vilém Flusser, as well as his own articulations of ‘Artificial Extelligence’.
