Guided tour and workshop for families with children
with art educator Astrid Lembcke-Thiel
On Family Saturdays, there’s time to explore art-making together, with everyone gathered around one long table!
After a short guided tour of the exhibition ‘The Glenkeen Variations: Aftergrowth’, a wide range of materials will be available for you to respond creatively to what we have discovered. There will be real soil from Glenkeen Garden, which we can grind ourselves to make paint, as well as air-drying clay for creating small objects. You can paint and draw with oil pastels, watercolours and other paints, cut and glue paper – whatever you feel like doing.
You can display your creations in a variety of preserving jars, creating an archive of your artistic processes! And if you like, your own ‘harvest’ can be showcased in the studio at Crespo Open Space until the end of the exhibition.
So, what grows in your garden? Come along and let's harvest ideas together!
