‘Between Beings’ – Workshop with artist Janina Warnk (12 noon)
In this workshop, we explore transitions between human and animal, between outline and mutable body. Inspired by works from the exhibition, the session opens up a space for hybrid, chimeric forms. Through movement, voice and free association, we create a setting in which perception begins to shift: Where does the animal in the human begin? Where does the self end? Open to all – no prior knowledge required.
Guided tours with Leonie Chima Emeka, assistant curator (2 p.m. / 3 p.m.)
in German (2 p.m.) and English (3 p.m.)
Artist talk with artist Juul Kraijer and curator Dr Mario Kramer (4:30 p.m.)
The large-scale charcoal drawings by Juul Kraijer form the most extensive body of work in the exhibition. In her enigmatic female nudes, often physically intertwined with animal forms, the artist marks the human figure with all its desires and nightmares. Over a period of fifteen years, Ulrike Crespo collected Kraijer’s works; the two knew each other personally and maintained a close exchange.
