ADVICE CENTRE FOR ROMNJA AND SINTEZZE

BACHTALE ROMNJA

Women who belong to the Romnja and Sintezze cultural groups often face discrimination in Germany. Whether dealing with official agencies or looking for an apartment or job, prejudices frequently prevent them from participating in society. Bachtale Romnja has now opened as the first advice centre for women in Frankfurt that is specifically tailored towards Romnja and Sintezze women.

A non-discriminatory space

Bachtale Romnja seeks to give women in Frankfurt a space that empowers them. As an advice centre and meeting point, it equips them with the information and knowledge about educational programmes they need in order to protect their rights and facilitate their personal development. Bachtale Romnja is open to all women who belong to the Romnja and Sintezze cultural groups. Working with advisers who are also native speakers reduces the barrier to seeking help.

Working towards greater self-determination and participation

Not only do women receive one-to-one advice at Bachtale Romnja, they can also participate in group activities. There is a focus on issues revolving around health, raising children, education, protection and bureaucratic matters. Moreover, the cultural activities on offer increase social participation among a group of women who often live in extremely precarious conditions.

Bachtale Romnja ist für alle Frauen aus dem Kulturkreis der Romnja und Sintezze offen. Der Einsatz von muttersprachlichen Beraterinnen senkt die Schwelle.
