Beginning this Autumn, the Crespo Foundation invites to a sequence of artist talks highlighting the residents of Glenkeen Garden. Situated in the Roaringwater Bay of West Cork, Ireland, the Glenkeen Garden Residency has been hosting diverse groups and individual artists biannually since 2021, for periods of up to three months, under the theme “ArtNature/NatureArt”. Throughout the talk series, the artists will present the work and research cultivated during their residency period. The inaugural exhibition of this program is scheduled to be held at the new Crespo Haus in 2024.

During their residency, Carolin Liebl and Nikolas Schmid-Pfähler, both based in Offenbach, pioneered artistic research on plastic ageing. Immersing themselves in composts, they delved into the biodegradability of specific plastics, aiming to visually depict the chemical transformations. Through sculptures, kinetic art, installations, and robotics, the duo is focused on biologically derived and degradable plastics, culminating in an installation featuring video, photography, and artefacts from their decomposition experiments.

The talks will be held in English.
