There’s enormous pressure on pupils who have only just arrived in Germany: they have to learn a new language, get a school-leaving qualification, and decide what kind of career they want to do. So we’ve set up a learning space called TELLUS where university students can support the progress of those attending school while also enhancing their own professional skills.

tomoni mental health has taken on the task of promoting early recognition of psychological illnesses among teenagers and young people. Teachers and other members of school staff can make a real difference by recognising the symptoms of psychiatric illness and approaching it in the right way. That’s because around 75% of all mental illnesses appear in childhood and adolescence. So tomoni mental health has developed the tomoni.schools training programme in conjunction with academics, affected young people, and educational professionals. This interactive digital module can be booked throughout Germany and provides insights and strategies for dealing with the psychological challenges facing young people every day at school.

The SABA educational scholarship supports people who have experienced migration or displacement by providing empowering settings and financial resources, thereby enabling them to attain a school-leaving certificate as a mature student. This lets them plan out their career so they can look forward to the future they want to have

Most activities connected with cultural education are located in large urban areas, which means that pupils and artists in the countryside have very few venues where they can meet up. That’s where the ‘flying artist’s room’ (fliegendes Künstlerzimmer, or FlieKü) comes in, functioning as a mobile live-in studio in rural schoolyards. The title of the project was inspired by the classic children’s book by Erich Kästner, ‘The Flying Classroom’. Even on the outskirts of towns, universal cultural participation is by no means a foregone conclusion. That’s why the FlieKü opened its doors in a district of Frankfurt for the very first time in 2023.

Weiter Schreiben is a literary platform that gives a voice to authors from regions affected by war and conflict. Weiter Schreiben has been translating, illustrating and publishing poetry and prose by writers in exile since 2017.
